Save Money Moving Locally

As a local moving company, there are many things you can do to help save yourself money. Most moving companies are charging you a pretty hefty hourly rate and will do whatever it takes to tack up the bill.  Many people call me and let me know that they are on a strict budget and would like to save as much money as possible. I give them a few suggestions.

First of all, be sure to be fully packed and ready to go on the day of move. This will make the move go as fast as possible and will not let the guys roaming around trying to figure out what to grab. For things that are not packed, it takes more trips for movers to take these items to the truck therefore leading to more time. Also, the more you are willing to do yourself will result in less billing time. The little things like pictures, lamps, vases, etc take up large amounts of time.

Dissassemble furniture yourself. This keeps movers from grabbing tools and spending time trying to figure out how something comes apart. Although a good mover can take apart furniture pretty quickly, it still takes some time for this. Its really quick to just grab items to load. Also, this gives you more room to store your packing boxes when waiting for the movers to arrive.

Feel free to call G&M Haulers Moving Company, your local movers at 979-324-6617 for more useful tips to save money or on getting ready for your move.

Movers Service Should Be Quick

College Station Movers should have quick service. When your moving locally, you may be paying a few guys and a truck by the hour as opposed to a flat fee.  With this in mind, you really dont want a couple of day laborers who were just hired this morning to handle your belongings.  If they are, it will take them a great deal of time to just come up with a plan on how to stack this furniture or fit it in a specified size truck. Some companies feel that it is ok to have just one decently trained and call him the leader to over look the operation. This might be ok, but you wont be able to keep an eye on 4 or more men who are bringing pieces of furniture out of your house from different areas of the house. This can lead to knicks, scratches, and holes in not just furniture but in random parts of the house.  And when leaving, or entering a new home, the last thing anyone wants to plan is more touchups for damages.

Well trained movers will make your move go as fast as possible. Not only will they know how to handle your furniture items to protect them, but they will know how to turn large pieces of furniture to take these peices through doors.  This will seperate good movers from amateurs because a well trained mover will take a few seconds to handle something while a non-experienced one will take 15 minutes or more plus a few scratches and bruises to achieve the same outcome.

You should always be in-charge of your move. Feel free to do some research on each company and be sure to ask about there employees.  If you feel that these guys are taking their time be sure to let the company know, but sometimes it is too late. Ask the company before hiring them, what are the options if this scenerio were to happen. And be sure to get everything in writting. Every moving company must have conctracts for everymove, and be sure to request any details in writing. You can even request a flat rate and see what each company has to offer. Some companies know ahead of time their productivity level and can let you know how long something will take.

G&M Haulers Moving Company is here to assure you that we operate at the highest level of moving comanies. We are willing to put anything in writting and go out of our way to make our customers happy. Visit us at www.gmhualers.com or call us at 979-324-6617
